“Katy goes from being angry one minute to upset the next. And she really is laying everything out there in her music, which she says has been extremely therapeutic. This new album will certainly be explosive.” 

The same source goes on to say this about Katy’s performance at the 54th Annual Grammy Awards, “Katy’s performance was intended to stick two fingers up as Russell. Her best friend Rihanna full encouraged it, too.”

This news certainly bodes well for Katy’s next album. You can bet the emotions Katy is feeling following the divorce will play a huge role in the tone of her next album.

2011 was a record year for Katy Perry. Along with five number one hits, Teenage Dream going double platinum and countless radio plays, Forbes magazine is reporting Katy Perry took in $44 million last year. The California Dreams tour brought in a reported $50 million and after expenses Katy banked a cool $44 million. Not too bad for a year’s worth of work!

The Sims 3: Showtime with Katy Perry is set for release on March 6th. Electronic Arts, the maker of the popular Sims series let fans in on the details of the Katy Perry expansion pack. The Sims Senior Director Aaron Conner, had this to says “You might imagine that we’re very thrilled to have someone as popular and beloved as Katy Perry to join us on this particular project. She’s a big The Sims fan and was very excited to join with us and we’re very excited to be affiliates with her.”  Fans can look forward to some exclusive content on the Katy Perry edition such as downloadable venues, new fashions, stage props and hairstyles. Katy Perry’s latest hit single “Part of Me” has a huge first week! “Part of Me” was released last Monday, February 13th following the 54th Annual Grammy Awards. Since the single’s debut through Sunday, February 19th, Billboard is reporting digital sales between 400,000 – 420,000. This would be the highest opening week for any musician since Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way” which topped the charts almost a year ago with 448,000 copies on February 26th, 2011.

Word is that Katy Perry is filming her music video for “Part of Me” on a local Southern California Marine base. Katy was seen in marine slacks with cropped black wig with several soldiers at Camp Pendleton in Oceanside, California near San Diego. Neither representatives for Camp Pendleton or Katy Perry have confirmed the news. Meanwhile, “Part of Me” is still tops on iTunes single song chart since its release  last Monday. Katy Perry has been nominated for three awards at this year’s Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards. Katy is up for “Voice from an Animated Movie” for her work in The Smurfs, “Favorite Female Singer” and “Favorite Song” for  Firework. Katy will have her work cut out for her as she’s up against fellow pop queens Lady Gaga and Selena Gomez. The awards show will be hosted by Hollywood actor Will Smith and is set to take place in Los Angeles on March 31st.

Katy Perry’s love for sugary confection has made it’s way to her upcoming album “Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection.” A new photo of Katy in a cupcake dress with her original brunette hair with a crown made up of lollipops and whip cream have made it out. It looks like this photo is the new cover for The Complete Confection. We think this photo was taken with her original promotion for “Teenage Dream” in 2010 but is finally making it out on this album. Katy loves all things sweet and she just radiates in this photo!
